Hello and welcome—I’m Cynthia DuVal, contemporary expressionist painter, designer, and creativity psychologist.
My work brings together fine art, design, and a lifelong passion for understanding how imagination, creative exploration, and emerging technologies shape our minds, lives, and cultures.
I grew up in Oregon, surrounded by orchards, gardens, and a family that celebrated art and education. Early roots in creativity, nature, and community continue to inspire the paintings, prints, and apparel I create today.
My portfolio of original paintings, archival art prints, designer fabrics, and apparel spans decades—and is for people seeking the beauty of nature and the depth of art history, color, and self-expression in everyday life. My work has found homes with collectors, interior designers, and style-minded clients who value art that sparks deep thought, aesthetic pleasure, and conversation.
Each piece is created to bring the vitality of gardens and wild landscapes into interiors—transforming them into emotionally safe places to look deep and wonder.
Now based in Portland, Oregon, I create from my studio in the city’s industrial/creative district at 310 SE Stephens Street.
I enjoy welcoming visitors into my creative space while sharing and selling art and apparel through Cynthia DuVal Creative Studio.
Let’s stay connected—I’d love to learn more about your interests in art and design, and find or create something for you that honors your personal style and spirit.
If you’re curious, I invite you to join my email list for updates on new art and design work and to schedule a studio visit.
